Jennifer Jacobs is joining Bloomberg Politics as a senior reporter covering the 2016 election, announced executive editor and Washington bureau chief Megan Murphy in a note to staff.
Jacobs, who starts April 4 and will be based out of Washington, has been the chief politics reporter at The Des Moines Register since 2011. She has been with the publication since 2004 and had previously covered the Iowa Senate and Hillary Clinton‘s 2008 run for president.
“Jennifer has done exemplary work as the Register’s chief politics reporter, especially during this last caucus cycle, and leaves big shoes to fill,” said Register editor and vice president Amalie Nash.
