Paul Beckett Will Succeed Gerald Seib as WSJ Washington Bureau Chief

He's current the paper's Asia editor.

Paul Beckett has been picked as The Wall Street Journal’s next Washington bureau chief, taking over for current bureau chief Gerald Seib when Seib steps into a new role next year as executive Washington editor and chief commentator.

Beckett, who is currently Asia editor at the Journal, will also serve as deputy managing editor. “Paul is one of our most accomplished, dynamic and thoughtful journalists,” wrote editor in chief Gerard Baker in a note to staff.
