Ruth Marcus Named Washington Post Deputy Editorial Page Editor

And she'll continue to write her weekly column.

On the heels of yesterday’s announcement of a Global Opinions section for the Washington Post, longtime WaPo vet Ruth Marcus has been named deputy editorial page editor, responsible for “bylined opinion content, digital and in print,” according to an announcement by editorial page editor Fred Hiatt, deputy editorial page editor Jackson Diehl and associate editorial page editor Jo-Ann Armao.

In this new-for-the-Post role, Marcus will be responsible for managing the columnists, bloggers, cartoonists and guest writers who populate the op-ed pages, as well as inaugurating new projects.
