A.G. Sulzberger Named Deputy Publisher of NY Times

All in the family.

As many have speculated, it looks like Arthur Gregg (A.G.) Sulzberger is going to be the next publisher of The New York Times.

The Times just announced that Sulzberger has been promoted to deputy publisher, which puts him in line to take over for his father, Times publisher Arthur Sulzberger. Arthur has served as the Times’ publisher since 1992.

If A.G. does indeed become publisher (he will), he’ll be the fifth generation of his family to hold that role since Adolph Ochs bought the Times in 1896.
