Amelia Lester is leaving The New Yorker and joining Australia’s Good Weekend as editor.
Lester has been with The New Yorker for nine years, most recently as executive online editor. She previously edited the magazine’s Goings On About Town section and served as managing editor.
“Independent journalism is more important than ever in Australia,” said Lester, in a statement. “I look forward to continuing Good Weekend’s long tradition of rigorous reporting and enthralling storytelling.”
Lester will join Good Weekend in February.
