Founding HuffPost Editor Roy Sekoff Leaving Company

He grew tired of the hectic schedule.

Roy Sekoff, the founding editor of The Huffington Post, is leaving the company. Sekoff most recently served as president and chief creative officer of HuffPost Live.

In a memo obtained by Politico, HuffPost president and editor in chief Arianna Huffington said Sekoff decided to leave because he no longer wanted to travel as much.

“Over the last few months, Roy and I have had many conversations about how unsustainable his current lifestyle had become – flying from L.A. every Monday and back home every Friday,” wrote Huffington.

“Trying to express all that Roy has meant to the site—and personally to me, as we watched our children grow up together—would be an exercise in futility,” continued Huffington.
