Major Shake-Up Coming to Time Inc.

Prepare for impact.

Time Inc. staffers beware: The dreaded “r word” has been mentioned. According to the New York Post, a restructuring is coming to Time Inc., and that almost always means layoffs.

Aside from cuts, the big news from the Time Inc. shake-up is that Fortune editor Alan Murray is expected to be named chief content officer. He’ll be succeeding Norm Pearlstine, who is supposed to step down and become a consultant to Time Inc. CEO Joe Ripp.

One other change that is expected to be announced as soon as today — Time, Fortune and Money will be shifted under the watch of Rich Battista, who serves as executive vp and president, entertainment and sports group and video.

Here’s hoping the Time Inc.
