NY Times Loses Deputy Business Editor Peter Lattman

He's joining Emerson Collective.

Peter Lattman, deputy business editor for The New York Times, is leaving the paper to join Emerson Collective as its managing director of media.

Emerson Collective is a philanthropic company that was founded by Steve Jobs’ widow, Laurene Powell Jobs.

Lattman had been with the Times since 2010. He was named deputy business editor in 2014. Lattman previously worked for The Wall Street Journal.

In a memo to staffers, Times business editor Dean Murphy lauded Lattman’s many skills.

“He has been a driver of stories, helpful with sources, a mentor to young reporters, and a consummate team player.
