The New York Times has named Ellen Shultz executive vp of talent and inclusion. Shultz most recently served as Media General’s vp and head of human resources.
Prior to her time with Media General, Shultz worked for Time Inc. for more than a decade.
“Ellen is joining the Times with an outstanding track record and highly relevant experience at companies undergoing significant digital transitions like ours,” said Times CEO Mark Thompson, in an announcement. “We will rely heavily on her expertise in helping us to attract, develop and retain outstanding employees and to think and work differently across the organization.”
Shultz’s appointment is effective June 27.
