NY Times Shifts Michael Grynbaum to TV

The City Hall bureau chief gets a new role.

subGrynbaum-209x300The New York Times has moved City Hall bureau chief Michael Grynbaum to its TV beat. Grynbaum will now cover the intersection of TV, culture and business.

Times business editor Dean Murphy, deputy business editor Peter Lattman and media editor Bill Brink explained in a memo that Grynbaum was more than qualified for the beat.

“Michael is no stranger to BizDay, having covered the 2008 financial crisis for us. In one of his most memorable — and enterprising — stories, he sneaked into the Lehman Brothers trading floor on the day of its bankruptcy.
