Shannon Hale and Mette Ivie Harrison have partnered together to host the “Writing For Charity” online auction. According to Hale’s blog post, the two authors have secured more than 140 prizes from a plethora of colleagues.
Some of the items up for sale include a limited edition print signed by Tony DiTerlizzi, a book club-themed pizza party with Tui Sutherland, and a visit to City Light Books (based in San Francisco) with Lemony Snicket (a.k.a. Daniel Handler). The bidding period will end on May 3 at 1:00 a.m.
The proceeds from this altruistic endeavor will go to Lifting Hands International. The mission behind this organization is to offer supplies to refugee camps. (via School Library Journal)
