Your New TV Remote is Your Second Screen Device

People are quickly turning to their smartphones, tablets, and soon, watches, to change TV channels or control video playback of other types. Peel, the leader in the space, is pre-loaded on essentially all non-iOS devices and facilitates more than seven billion commands per month from more than 100 million devices.

The second screen remote space is still nascent, though, and Ooyala last week announced that customers can now use its iOS SDK to enable iOS playback controls via Apple Watch. The video analytics and monetization company recently published a slideshow demonstrating that the days of the physical remote are limited. See below:
