Chris Matthews, the MSNBC Host, Not the Seattle Seahawk, Called The Super Bowl

By Chris Ariens

Chris Matthews called it. Not the Seattle Seahawks’ Chris Matthews, but the MSNBC host.

Matthews predicted the Patriots would win the game 31-28. He wasn’t far off: it was 28-24. And if it weren’t for a Russell Wilson interception with :20 left in the game, the score likely would have been 31-28, with a Seahawks win. But that’s water under the SR 520 floating bridge.

As for that other Chris Matthews, the surprise star of the deflated Seattle Seahawks, his nickname is “Hardball,” given to him by the team’s offensive coordinator. In fact, every time he Googles himself that other Chris Matthews pops up.

Al Michaels predicted, “Tomorrow, he may supplant MSNBC’s Chris Matthews in the number one spot.” Matthews had never made a catch in an NFL game. Tonight, he had 4 receptions for 109 yards.

Here’s MSNBC’s Chris Matthews’ prediction made just yesterday as he broadcast his show from Arizona.
