Iowa, Already, for TV Newsers

bret baierThis weekend’s Iowa Freedom Summit is bringing quite a few newsers to the Hawkeye State. With the Iowa Caucuses a year away, the inaugural Summit hopes to be a launch point for conservative ideas.

Chris Christie, Ben Carson, Ted Cruz, Carly Fiorina, Mike Huckabee, Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, Joni Ernst, Scott Walker, Sarah Palin and Donald Trump are among the confirmed speakers at the Summit. With Names like Christie, Palin and Trump… something newsworthy is bound to pop up, and already has.

Bloomberg TV’s Mark Halperin and guest co-host Kathie Obradovich will anchor a special edition of “With All Due Respect” from Des Moines tonight at 5pm ET with guest Rick Santorum on set.

Halperin will also anchor coverage from inside the Forum of the speeches starting tomorrow at 9:30am ET. He’ll be joined throughout for analysis from politicians, journalists and activists. Anchored coverage of the full event will stream live on BloombergPolitics.com.

On Fox News, “Special Report with Bret Baier” will be live from Iowa Monday at 6pmET. The program will feature analysis on potential presidential candidates who’ve been to Iowa, and those who plan to visit the state in the near future. Baier will also break down the highlights of the Summit.

CNN will be providing live shots throughout the day with corespondent Peter Hamby on the ground. Kasie Hunt and Benjy Sarlin are on the ground for MSNBC, while Perry Bacon and Kelly O’Donnell are there for NBC News. On Sunday, O’Donnell will report for “Meet the Press” on all the potential GOP Presidential candidates that speak this weekend.

Chief White House correspondent Jonathan Karl will be covering the event for ABC News and has a special streaming on ABCNews.com Sunday night. Karl will moderate a discussion between GOP presidential hopefuls Cruz, Rand Paul and Marco Rubio Sunday at 11:30 pm.

John Dickerson, CBS News’ Political Director, is also covering the event.
