News Exec Goes Hollywood

By Chris Ariens

This morning we told you about Noah Oppenheim, the senior producer of the 7am hour of Today leaving the show. Turns out he’s headed west to be a Vice President of Reveille Entertainment, the production company started by now-NBCU entertainment chief Ben Silverman. Silverman sold Reveille to the U.K. production company Shine which, interestingly, is run by Rupert Murdoch’s daughter Elisabeth.

Oppenheim will leave the Today show in about a month. He tells TVNewser, “I’m going to miss news, but it’s time for a change and this was too good an opportunity to pass up.”

I’m excited to announce that, after 3 years with TODAY, Noah Oppenheim is relocating to Los Angeles where he’ll be taking a job as VP, Creative Affairs, of Reveille. Reveille is the production company behind “The Office,” and “American Gladiators,” so, if any of you have a reality show idea or sitcom script sitting in your drawer, send it Noah’s way.

We’re sad to see him go but happy that he’ll still be part of NBCU’s extended family. We’ll make another announcement soon about the precise timing of Noah’s departure and how his responsibilities will be reassigned. In the meantime, please join me in congratulating Noah & his wife Alli about this great news.
