The ‘Today’ Show Super Bowl Ad Unveiled

The “Today” show debuted its Super Bowl commercial this morning. It has everything from Wrangler the puppy and selfies with fans to Carson Daly emerging from the subway.

The ad was filmed on the streets of NYC and features all of the “Today” show hosts. It was created by Mat Whitecross, who directed Coldplay’s video for the band’s hit song, “A Sky Full of Stars.” Adweek has a behind-the-scenes look at the filming of the spot.

A two-handed wave by Savannah Guthrie and Al Roker leading some sort of arm-swinging cheer are among the highlights. Kathie Lee Gifford was on vacation and missed the shoot, but they found a creative way to include her in the finished product. Check it out below.
