Charlotte Fox Station Gets New GM

By Kevin Eck

Kieran Clarke has been named gm of Fox owned Charlotte station WJZY-WMYT.

Clarke last worked as evp and gm of Meredith Corporation’s video studios. Before that, he was gm of KPTV and KPDX in Portland, Oregon. He’s also worked as gm of Portland’s KWBP which is now KRCW.

“We are pleased to find someone who has run a successful Fox duopoly and it’s also nice that he has ties in this important market,” said Fox Television Stations CEO Jack Abernethy.

“Leading WJZY and WMYT is a tremendous opportunity, especially given the stations’ valuable franchises such as The Panthers, NASCAR and the FOX prime time lineup,” said Clarke. “I am also eager to grow and strengthen FOX 46’s local news product and call Charlotte, a place where we already have family, home.”

He starts in September.
