Cox Media Group has named Patti McGettigan as news director for WHBQ in Memphis.
McGettigan replaces Ken Jobe, who left the station shortly after the switch in ownership from FOX to Cox.
“I believe strongly in the values and vision of Cox Media Group and am looking forward to joining the team at FOX 13 in Memphis,” said McGettigan. “We hope to focus on the growth and development of our local news commitment while seeking to serve the community in areas underserved in the past.”

She comes from WOOD in Grand Rapids, Mich. where she worked for 14 years, nearly 10 of those as news director. Previously, she was news director at WISH in Indianapolis. She starts Friday.
