Rockford Anchor Leaving Station

By Kevin Eck

WTVO morning anchor and ep Matt Rodewald says he’s leaving the Rockford, Ill. ABC and Fox affiliate WTVO-WQRF.

“TIME TO SAY GOODBYE: I had no idea what to expect when I first came to Rockford,” Rodewald wrote on his Facebook page. “But I’ve learned so much from sitting at that desk that I never would have learned anywhere else. Scott Picken took a shot on me, and I can’t thank him enough. The next step is coming. I’m looking forward to telling you what that is soon.”

Rodewald worked at WMAQ in Chicago as the traffic and transportation reporter before joining WTVO-WQRF. He’s also worked as a morning anchor and sports radio host for ESPN Radio in Indianapolis.
