Sinclair to Launch Network with MGM

Sinclair Broadcast Group says it’s partnering with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer to “jointly create, develop, distribute and air the first ever 24 hour/7 day per week science fiction multi-channel network which will feature over 1,500 hours of premium MGM content.”

Operating what sounds like a shared services agreement, Sinclair will own the network while MGM will handle the programming and operations. Sinclair TV Group co-COO Steve Pruett will oversee the network for Sinclair.

The network is set to launch in late 2015 in 30 percent of the US. Viewers will see a mix of science fiction, fantasy and adventure title from MGM including “Stargate,” “Poltergeist,” and “Outer Limits.”
