TEGNA Promotes Director of Sales to GM of Maine Station

Brian Cliffe has been promoted to president and GM of TEGNA’s Portland, Maine NBC affiliate WCSH. He’ll also oversee WLBZ in Bangor.

Cliffe replaces Steve Carter who was named GM of TEGNA’s Denver station KUSA.

“Brian is a proven sales leader with an innovative, digital-first approach,” said Dave Lougee, president of TEGNA Media. “No one knows WCSH 6 and Portland better than Brian. He constantly puts the audience first while developing creative campaigns that better serve clients and the community. He will continue to use his innovative spirit and analytical approach in his new role.”

Cliffe started at WCSH in 1992. He was promoted to regional sales manager in 2007 and sales manager one year later.
