With Tribune’s Take, Spectrum Auction Proceeds Top $630 Million

By Chris Ariens

Tribune Media Company announced this afternoon that it expects to receive approximately $190 million resulting from the FCC’s recently completed reverse auction for broadcast spectrum.

Tribune Media owns or operates 42 local television stations reaching more than 50 million U.S. households. Tribune has not said which of its stations will be giving up spectrum. That’s also true of Fox TV stations and Gray TV which revealed their reverse auction take earlier. Fox expects to earn $350 million for its spectrum while Gray will receive around $90.8 million.

Tribune says it expects to receive the proceeds in the second half of 2017.
